REACT

Resuscitative Emergency Airway & Critical Techniques

REACT is planned around the airway that goes wrong: the shocked, hypoxic or acidotic patient, the distorted anatomy, and the moment you have to commit to a surgical airway.

Planned content

  • Resuscitating the patient before intubation in shock, hypoxaemia and severe acidosis
  • Rapid sequence induction: drug choice, checklists and team roles
  • Video and direct laryngoscopy, bougie technique and first-pass strategy
  • The failed airway and the "can't intubate, can't oxygenate" decision
  • Immediate post-intubation care

Who it is for

Emergency medical officers, emergency medicine registrars and other clinicians who manage airways outside theatre.

Dates and format

REACT is still being developed, and the content above may change. Dates, venue, fee and CPD accreditation will be published when it opens. People on the interest list hear first.
