About FORGE Medical

A training academy for advanced emergency medicine

FORGE Medical is based in Pretoria, South Africa. We run high quality, bespoke, hands-on courses in the procedures and decisions that matter most when a patient is crashing.

Why FORGE exists

Many of the procedures that save a life or a limb in the emergency department are rare. A clinician can go years between real cases, then have to perform one correctly the first time, often without a surgeon in the room.

FORGE courses close that gap with deliberate, supervised practice on realistic models, in groups small enough that every delegate does every procedure.

How we teach

Hands on, from the first minute

Real tissue where it counts

Procedural courses use fresh cadaveric tissue. Planes, resistance and anatomy behave the way they will when you have to do it for real.

Four to a station

Groups stay small so every delegate performs every procedure, with faculty correcting technique at the bedside rather than from the front of the room.

Taught by practising clinicians

Faculty are real emergency, critical care and retrieval clinicians who teach from current practice, including when to do a procedure and when not to.

Faculty

Practising clinicians

FORGE faculty are emergency, critical care and retrieval clinicians who perform and teach these skills in their own practice. More faculty will be named as each course’s dates are announced.
